Waitrose £9.99
As lovely on the nose as it is in the mouth, this is a great winter white. I find that the citrus and floral aromas are there in the taste as well, along with a slightly honeyed flavour. It’s dry but creamy, both mouth-watering and mouth-filling.
Food match: Perfect with dishes with a white cream sauce, pork and apple, and I make a sweet and sour pork and apricot dish which complements it well.
La Moneda Reserva Malbec
Asda £5.98 (often reduced)
We need something warming, uplifting and appealing at this time of year and this Malbec hits that spot so well. This is a great example of why we love Argentinian Malbec – oozing black fruit and juicy lusciousness, it’s both bold and smooth.
Food match: Spaghetti Bolognese, Shepherd’s Pie

I’ve only just discovered how good the wines from Greyfriars are and delighted to know that I can get at least one of them in Waitrose. If you’ve completed Dry January (RESPECT!) then you are going to want something to celebrate – you deserve this. From Surrey, this 100% Pinot Noir is a strawberry-scented top class English sparkler. Food match: Obviously delicious on its own, but don’t be afraid to try it with grilled lamb chops, cooked rare. Prawns and red fruit desserts will also match well.
