Every Little Helps

tesco logo Tesco has 25% off any 6 bottles from now until 21st April. We like this style of promotion because it is a chance to buy your favourites at competitive prices and, of course, ‘every little helps’. But actually Tesco’s assistance is even grander and more obliging than usual. Wines already promoted and reduced, and this is where the promotion is really exciting, also benefit from the 25% off. This is an in-store promotion and not online – there you have to buy rather more, 36 bottles instead of 6, and the deals are different.

Here are some of our star buys with the price you will pay when you buy any 6 wines.

Tesco Finest* 1er Cru Champagne £11.99

Tesco Finest* Picpoul de Pinet £4.49

Tesco Finest* Sancerre £7.49

Taittinger Brut Reserve Champagne £18.49 – This is an amazing price for a Champagne that is showing particularly well at the moment. Lanson Black Label (£17.99) and their White Label, or demi-sec, (18.49), are well-priced and vintage Chanoine is, too (£14.99).

Les Dauphins Côtes du Rhône Réserve £4.50

Both Brancott and Mud House Sauvignon Blanc £5.25

Peter & Peter Riesling Stellagen Trocken Mosel £4.49

Ravens Wood Old Vine Lodi Zinfandel £5.99 (that’s £3 a bottle cheaper than Costco)

Quirky Bird Mourvèdre Viognier is a mere £3.37 – should we really be recommending wine at this price? Well, if you have a young person’s party to cater for or have recently splashed out on a yatch/Aston Martin/private island or whatever and are feeling the pinch then you might find this every day, quaffing wine perfectly acceptable at this price. It is eminently drinkable.
